MCLS presents Money Smart Week 2015 with personal finance management events for adults and kids Apr 20-25

STUART, FL – In celebration of Money Smart Week® the Martin County Library System is hosting five special events at three libraries geared toward educating children on the importance of personal finance management and adults on how to get the most out of retirement. These special events are as follows:
Blake Library, 2351 SE Monterey Rd., Stuart
• Monday Apr 20, 2015 at 6:00 pm, Raising Money Savvy Kids – Talking about money is hard, especially with children. Where do you start? We’re going to help you begin, by giving you a strategy for how to talk to your kids about money. Registration recommended. To register, please call 772-288-5702.
• Wednesday, April 22 at 4:00pm, Money Smart for Elementary Students – This workshop includes age-appropriate activities designed to teach children about “paying yourself first,” “wants versus needs,” and other important lessons for being “Money Smart”. • Thursday Apr 23, 2015 at 6:00pm, Retirement: Making Your Money Last – Presented by Doug Marcello of Edward Jones Investments. This seminar is designed for those who are thinking about retiring or who have retired recently. Discusses the considerations/tradeoffs when developing a withdrawal strategy — working longer, spending less and delaying social security. Also covers ways to plan for expected and unexpected expenses with insurance.
