Learn about the Mediterranean diet at Hoke Library April 19

The Hoke Library, 1150 NW Jack Williams Way, Jensen Beach, will be hosting Mohammad (“Mike”) Hussein Saturday, April 19 at 2pm, as he presents The Mediterranean Diet and Your Health, where he will talk about the health benefits of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern foods, and serve samples.

Mohammad (“Mike”) Hussein is the owner and proprietor of Planet Ozone and Tabuleh Café, the first “green” commercial building in Martin County.

Art of Asian medicine lecture at Blake Library April 14

The Blake Library, 2351 SE Monterey Rd, Stuart, will be hosting Rev. Laurie Ann Leach Monday, April 14 from 6:30 to 7:45pm, as she presents a lecture, titled Nutritional Guidance Using Asian Medicine, which will help the curious learn more about the Art of Asian Medicine.

The art of Asian medicine has many different forms, theories, beliefs and uses. Please come and listen to this fascinating lecture on the bioelectrical impulses or Qi (pronounced “Chi”), of our human form that makes us who we are in our individual uniqueness. Hear how you can improve your own health and life, simply and effectively. There are no religious connotations in this work.

Rev. Laurie Ann Leach, LST, LMT, CLT is a New England native and has been trained by some of the pioneers in the field of Integrative Medicine; the late Pauline Sasaki – Zen & Quantum Shiatsu; Dr. Deepak Chopra – Quantum Physics in Medicine and Guided Meditation; Dr. Wayne Dyer – Power of Positive Thinking; the late Prof. Wang Jin Yua – Chinese Pressing Point Massage and QiGong Chinese Medicine (see Bill Moyers Healing and The Mind specials on YouTube); plus many more. She currently does work with the Council on Aging at the Log House Senior programs, the Kane Center Adult Day Care program, Treasure Coast Parkinson’s Association and Treasure Coast Hospice.

Thursday, April 10 from 2 to 3:30pm, at Hoke Library, 1150 NW Jack Williams Way, Jensen Beach, Rev. Laurie Ann Leach, LST, LMT, CLT will be conducting a Guided Meditation workshop for those looking to find out more about how meditation can help you and your life.

Life fills us with moments of extreme joy and heartache, can take us by surprise in the best of ways or worst of ways. Guided meditation can help you through these times in your life when you are in need, a simple process of literally “changing your mind”. The art of this method of healing and the mind is easy to learn and practice.
