2014 Elisabeth Lahti Concert Series continues April 12 with Paraguayan Harpist Marcos Vega at Cummings Library

Internationally known Paraguayan harpist Marcos Vega, joined by Clark Hower on guitar, will present a selection of Latin American music and other styles Saturday April 12 at 2pm at the Peter & Julie Cummings Library, 2551 SW Matheson Ave, Palm City. This concert is the final part of a four-part concert series underwritten by Elisabeth Lahti.

Free tickets are required and available for pickup at the Peter & Julie Cummings Library beginning April 8.

Born in Paraguay, of Guarani, Italian and Spanish descent, Marcos Vega started playing the Paraguayan harp at age ten, when his father directed him to take lessons. He went on to study music at the Conservatory of Asuncion, Paraguay, and the Conservatory of Cincinnati. Vega toured throughout Mexico, Central and South America, and performed at the World International Fair in San Salvador, as well as several television program, and numerous nightclubs and hotels.

Since 1979, he has performed as a solo harpist at the Jupiter Beach Resort Hilton, The Breakers International Hotel, the Ritz Carlton Hotel, and the Mar-A-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida.
