Dr. Peter Pertis to continue the Beauty of Classical Piano series February 8 at Blake library

Internationally acclaimed Hungarian pianist Dr. Peter Pertis will present the fifth installment of a music series underwritten by Elisabeth Lahti, “The Beauty of Classical Piano,” 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8 at the Blake Library, 2351 SE Monterey Rd, Stuart. This concert will be free and open to the public. No tickets or reservations are required.

Dr. Pertis will play Beethoven’s Sonata, op. 13, Liszt’s Funerailles, Debussy’s L’Isle joyeuse and Chopin’s Scherzo, op. 31 in a 45-minute concert with no intermission.

Dr. Peter Pertis was born in Budapest, Hungary. He was awarded both his Masters and Doctorate of Musical Arts degrees from the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, Hungary. Dr. Pertis was a Professor of Piano at the Franz Liszt Academy of Budapest, Visiting Artist/Professor at the Musashino Music Academy, Tokyo, Japan and Visiting Artist/Professor at the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford, CT.

In the past ten to fifteen years Dr. Pertis has considerably reduced his public appearances. He divides his time between Budapest, Hungary and Stuart, FL.
