The Martin County Library System will be participating in Florida Library Snapshot Day on Wednesday, January 22, 2014! The Florida Library Association (FLA) is pleased to announce the third Florida Library Snapshot Day event.

The Martin County Library System will join libraries across Florida in taking pictures and collecting statistics and members’ comments showing how Floridians are utilizing their libraries that day. The FLA will then collect the results and post them online. The Florida Library Association, in partnership with the Division of Library and Information Services will be posting the results on the FLA website, where everyone can see these powerful stories.

MCLS needs the help of our patrons to make this day truly successful, therefore we wish to express immense gratitude for any of those who make a point to come in on January 22 showing their support for their beloved libraries!

One library’s pictures and statistics may be small but the results from the entire state are very impactful. Help complete our mosaic for library advocacy. Look at the results from the previous Florida Library Snapshot Day at this link.

Budget cuts and a slow economy have hurt all libraries everywhere. A picture is worth a thousand words; a Snapshot can write volumes for advocacy. Let’s raise a thousand voices in advocacy!
