Take a journey through the landscape of roots music with a new three-part concert series that samples three distinctly American musical styles. Presented by the Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society, the American Roots Music Concert Series begins Saturday, September 7 and continues on Saturdays, October 5 and November 9. All shows start at 2:30 pm.

Concert Locations:
  • Sept. 7 – Jazz: Hobe Sound Public Library, 10595 SE Federal Hwy, Hobe Sound
  • Oct. 5 – Bluegrass: Robert Morgade Library, 5851 SE Community Dr, Stuart
  • Nov. 9 – Blues: Elisabeth Lahti Library, 15200 SW Adams Ave, Indiantown

Founded in 1996, the Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster a greater awareness and love for Jazz and Blues by exposing these great American art forms to the community at-large and in schools.

This series, one of several Journey Stories events for adults, is brought to you by a grant received from the Florida Humanities Council along with local funding from the Arts Foundation of Martin County and Women Supporting the Arts, to complement the Museum on Main Street: Journey Stories traveling exhibition presented by the Smithsonian Museum. The exhibit will be on display at the Elisabeth Lahti Library October 19 through November 30.

Eighteen months of events exploring Journey Stories themes will take place at Martin County libraries leading up to and immediately following the Smithsonian exhibit.
