Free Medicare presentations at all Martin County libraries

SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) is visiting all six libraries in the Martin County Library System throughout August for free “Medicare 101” presentations. SHINE supports the Florida Department of Elder Affairs’ mission by providing free and unbiased health insurance counseling through a dedicated network of volunteers, empowering Florida seniors to make informed health care choices.

Presentation Schedule:
• August 2 – 10:30 am – Blake Library, 2351 SE Monterey Rd, Stuart
• August 9 – 10:30 am – Elisabeth Lahti Library, 15200 SW Adams Ave, Indiantown
• August 13 – 10:30 am – Peter & Julie Cummings Library, 2551 SW Matheson Ave, Palm City
• August 23 – 1:30 pm – Hoke Library, 1150 NW Jack Williams Way, Jensen Beach
• August 27 – 1:30 pm – Robert Morgade Library, 5851 SE Community Dr, Stuart
• August 29 – 1:30 pm – Hobe Sound Public Library, 10595 SE Federal Hwy, Hobe Sound

“Medicare 101” is conducted by specially-trained SHINE volunteers and provides detailed information on the basics of the Medicare program, including an overview of Medicare coverage – parts A, B, C and D – and Medigap insurance. Volunteers will also assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families and caregivers with Medicare and health insurance questions.
