Award-winning local author Marianne Berkes presents her latest children’s book What’s in the Garden? at three Martin County libraries in June. Berkes’ one-hour interactive program features a game and craft. The event is for all ages, with a focus on children ages 3-8.

Event dates and times are as follows:
• June 123:00 p.m. Hoke Library, 1150 NW Jack Williams Way, Jensen Beach

• June 181:00 p.m. Peter & Julie Cummings Library, 2551 SW Matheson Ave., Palm City

• June 193:00 p.m. Blake Library, 2351 SE Monterey Rd., Stuart

What’s in the Garden? aids children in making the connection between the natural world and what they eat. The book features vivid illustrations, recipes and additional information on plants and cooking that can begin a lifetime of healthy eating. Berkes, a Hobe Sound resident, has spent much of her life as a teacher, children’s theater director and children’s librarian.
