Workshop for girls teaches healthy habits, self-esteem

Join Marybeth Peña, RN, BSN, CDE, for two sessions of Beneath the Surface: Put Your Best Face Forward, an exciting and interactive workshop for girls in grades 6-12.

Peña’s first workshop takes place on Saturday, June 1 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Blake Library, 2351 SE Monterey Road, Stuart. The second workshop will be held on Friday, June 7 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Hoke Library, 1150 NW Jack Williams Way, Jensen Beach.

Registration is required. Please call 772-221-1407 to register at the Blake Library or 772-463-2870 to register at the Hoke Library. 

This workshop offers techniques for physical health and explores issues related to self-esteem. Through the event, girls will identify personal habits that are part of a healthy lifestyle and acquire communication and decision-making skills. Hands-on activities include creating a vision board and preparing skin care remedies from natural products. A healthy meal will also be provided.
