The Martin County Library System’s (MCLS) own idea lab teen volunteer Shelby Baillie won the Collaborative Summer Library Program’s (CSLP) 2013 Teen Video Challenge for the state of Florida!

Join MCLS at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 to congratulate Shelby on her accomplishment. The reception will give attendees the chance to meet Shelby and watch the video that earned her the title of CSLP Teen Video Challenge Florida winner for 2013. Light refreshments will be served. The Peter & Julie Cummings Library is located at 2551 SW Matheson Avenue in Palm City.

Now in its third year, the Teen Video Challenge is a national competition aimed at getting teens involved with reading and their public library’s summer reading program. Winning videos were selected at the state level with over one hundred teens in twenty-six states participating in their creation.

The winners, announced on April 17, received a monetary award and the associated public library received prizes from CSLP and Upstart. In addition to promoting reading and the 2013 slogan “Beneath the Surface,” these videos exemplify the diversity of our country and how much teens value their public libraries.

Congratulations, Shelby Baillie, Florida winner of the Collaborative Summer Library Program’s 2013 Teen Video Challenge!
