Author and TV personality Joanne Caras will speak on Thursday, May 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the John F. Armstrong Wing of the Blake Library, 2351 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart. Caras’ two cookbooks Holocaust Survivor Cookbook and its sequel Miracles & Meals are a collection of over 240 stories and 500 recipes received from Holocaust survivors around the world. During her presentation, she details how the cookbooks were created and describes several of the most moving and miraculous stories that appear in the two books. Holocaust Survivor Cookbook and Miracles & Meals will be available for purchase and signing after the event. The event is free and open to the public.

Caras, of Port St. Lucie, shares how her trip to Israel helped produce both cookbooks, host her own TV show, embark on a world tour and support a soup kitchen in Jerusalem. All profits from the sale of every cookbook are donated. To date, over $750,000 has been raised for a variety of groups and charities.

Caras has appeared on FOX, CBS and NBC television stations along with national radio in Canada, Israel and the U.S. Her television show Miracles & Meals with Joanne Caras appears on Mondays at 9:00 p.m. on JLTV (Jewish Life TV), which is available in over 36 million homes in the United States.
