Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Elisabeth Lahti Library May 4

No time for a siesta, it’s time for a fiesta! Celebrate Cinco de Mayo, one of the world’s most fun holidays, at the Elisabeth Lahti Library, 15200 SW Adams Avenue, Indiantown, on Saturday, May 4 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Sponsored by the Friends of the Martin County Library System, Inc., this festive event is free and open to the public.   

Enjoy traditional Mexican food and live mariachi music by the four-man group Mariachi Pancho Villa of West Palm Beach. Holy Cross Group will also perform traditional folklórico dance demonstrations at 12:00 p.m. For more information call 772-597-4200.

Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, honoring the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War.
