Celebrating the Harvest of the Mind, Body and Spirit

DATE:  MARCH 14, 2013

Paul Bracken, Ph.D., professor of management and political science at Yale University, presents his book The Second Nuclear Age on Thursday, April 4 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Blake Library. Professor Bracken discusses how nuclear weapons are changing the calculus of power politics, and he offers an incisive tour of the Middle East, South Asia and East Asia to underscore how the United States must not allow itself to be unprepared for managing such crises. The event is free and open to the public.

Professor Bracken is also the author of Managing Strategic Surprise, Fire in the East and The Command and Control of Nuclear Forces and numerous other books and articles. He serves on the Chief of Naval Operations Executive Panel and chairs the Board of Advisors for the U.S. Naval War College. In 2012, The Princeton Review included Bracken in its book The Best 300 Professors in the United States. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Yale University.

A part of the Martin County Library System’s Chautauqua South arts and education series, the event is sponsored by the Friends of the Martin County Library System, Inc. The Blake Library is located at 2351 S.E. Monterey Rd., Stuart.
