Mad Science of Palm Beach presents Fire and Ice, a one-hour interactive performance for children ages 5 and up, on Saturday, March 9 at three Martin County community libraries. Sponsored by the Friends of the Martin County Library System, Inc., the events are free and open to the public.

Show-times on March 9 are as follows:

• 11:00 a.m. Peter & Julie Cummings Library, 2551 S.W. Matheson Ave., Palm City

• 2:00 p.m. Hobe Sound Public Library, 10595 S.E. Federal Hwy., Hobe Sound

• 4:00 p.m. Elisabeth Lahti Library, 15200 S.W. Adams Ave., Indiantown

This spectacular show will thrill audiences with impressive science experiments dealing with the wonders of dry ice and the dynamics of air pressure. Volunteers will be chosen to participate in various activities and will be sure to excite every child’s scientific curiosity.

Mad Science encourages scientific literacy in children by creating hands-on science programming. Their approach to teaching invites children to pursue careers in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) field.
