Professor Daniels tells story of Jonathan Dickinson March 2

Jason Daniels, Indian River State College adjunct professor of history, presents “Beyond the Shipwreck: Jonathan Dickinson” on Saturday, March 2 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at the Peter & Julie Cummings Library. Professor Daniels discusses the odyssey of Dickinson’s shipwreck near Hobe Sound, Florida in 1696, the impact of his journal, and his successes in contending with the uncertainty of the early eighteenth century Atlantic world.  The event is free and open to the public.

A part of the Martin County Library System’s Chautauqua South arts and education series, the event is sponsored by the Friends of the Martin County Library System, Inc. The Peter & Julie Cummings Library is located at 2551 SW Matheson Ave., Palm City.
