Martin County Library System is seeking volunteers to participate in the annual literacy event, Dr. Seuss Days, Tuesday, March 5 through Thursday, March 7. Children enrolled in over 100 early education and care classrooms listen to a registered Seuss volunteer read a Seuss book. The volunteer purchases the book and after reading it to the children, donates the book to the classroom’s library for future enjoyment.

Join fellow readers at the Seuss-A-Bration Kickoff Orientation, the traditional annual “swearing-in” ceremony, on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. in the John F. Armstrong Wing of the Blake Library, 2351 SE Monterey Road in Stuart.  In addition to breakfast goodies, you will be given materials, instructions, and even a striped stovepipe hat. The Cat in the Hat will be there, too, reading from a Seuss favorite.

Dr. Seuss Days and the kickoff orientation are presented with support from the Library
Foundation of Martin County.  If you please, won’t you become a Dr. Seuss Days reader and share the joy of reading with the children of Martin County?  Registration is required for all new and returning volunteers.  To sign up, call (772) 221-1407 or e-mail
