Journey back into Florida’s history with Atlantic Coast Theatre’s “Florida Treasures: A VIVA Florida History

Exploration.” There will be fun for the whole family on Saturday, January 5 at 11 a.m. in the Community Room of the Hoke Library, 1150 NW Jack Williams Way, Jensen Beach and at 3 p.m. in the Community Room of the Elisabeth Lahti Library, 15200 SW Adams Avenue, Indiantown.

When two tourists discover a treasure chest full of historical artifacts, they are magically transported back in time during a fun-filled journey through Florida history. The audience will laugh and learn about Ponce De Leon, the

settlement of Pensacola (Florida’s “Almost Oldest” city), the founding of St. Augustine, and the “Original” Pocahontas story. The event is free and for children in grades K-5.

The Florida Department of State Touring Program awarded a grant to the Martin County Library System in support of this event, with additional funding provided by the Friends of the Martin County Library System, Inc.
