Soldier recounts his time in Afghanistan Nov. 9 at Blake Library

David Yankwitt will present “Afghanistan: A Soldier’s View” on Friday, November 9 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the John F. Armstrong Wing of the Blake Library, 2351 S.E. Monterey Road in Stuart.

Free and open to the public, the talk is part of the Living History: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Stories (LHOPES) series developed by Indian River State College history professor Robert R. Farley for students and community guests.

Yankwitt, an Indian River State College and Florida Atlantic University history major, will describe his experiences as a soldier in the ongoing war in Afghanistan. This Veterans Day event honors all of America’s young men and women who served their county to ensure our freedom.
