Armstrong Wing of the Blake Library, 2351 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart.  Girls ages 8 to 18 are encouraged to attend with their parents.  Space is limited.  Pre-registration is required.  Please call 772-221-1407 to register.

The free event is presented in collaboration with the Martin County Library System, CHARACTER COUNTS! a program of United Way of Martin County, Tykes & Teens, Children’s Services Council, the Martin County School District, and the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida.

Bullying is a serious issue that affects the everyday lives of kids who bully, those targeted, and bystanders.  With the constant pressures girls face to look and act a certain way, competition and jealousy have gotten in the way of functional friendships.  While males have been taught to compete in sports and to view each other as comrades, females have been taught to compete with each other, and view one another as threats.

Working to make the world a better place for all girls with its anti-bullying programs, Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida believes the film “FindingKind” will open a dialogue between parents and their daughters to help discover how bullying has affected their lives and how just being KIND can make a difference.
