Literature professor reveals founding fathers’ literary genius Oct. 20 at Robert Morgade Library

Dr. Roderick Hofer, Professor of Literature at Indian River State College, will present “Democracy and Literacy” on Saturday, October 20 from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. in the Anderson Community Room of the Robert Morgade Library, located at 5851 SE Community Drive on the Chastain Campus of the Indian River State College in Stuart.

Dr. Hofer will examine the Declaration of Independence and Federalist Paper # 10.  These two foundational texts illuminate the founders’ beliefs about the relationship between the individual and the common good.

Free and open to the public, the talk is part of the Living History: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Stories (LHOPES) series developed by Indian River State College history professor Robert R. Farley for students and community guests.
