Libraries’ September 10-15 Food For Fines week helps House of Hope

The Martin County Library System is offering a chance to wipe out your fines in exchange for food for House of Hope.

During Food For Fines week, Sept. 10 to Sept. 15, patrons should bring their overdue items along with non-perishable food items to the circulation desk at any Martin County library. All fines for items that have been returned late will be forgiven.

Bills for lost or never-returned items are not included in this offer.

Following are Martin County library addresses:
• Blake Library, 2351 S.E. Monterey Rd., Stuart
• Cummings Library, 2551 S.W. Matheson Ave., Palm City
• Elisabeth Lahti Library, 15200 S.W. Adams Ave., Indiantown
• Hobe Sound Public Library, 10595 S.E. Federal Hwy., Hobe Sound
• Hoke Library, 1150 N.W. Jack Williams Way, Jensen Beach
• Robert Morgade Library, 5851 S.E. Community Dr., Stuart

The libraries conducted the first Food For Fines effort throughout April 2011 and collected more than 6,300 pounds of food for House of Hope, a nonprofit agency that provides food, clothing, furniture, financial assistance and case management services to Martin County residents in need.
