Create New Objects from Old Books at Blake Library Altered Book Workshop,

 “Playing With Books,” July 14

Martin County Library System will present an altered book workshop, “Playing With Books,” Saturday, July 14 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the John F. Armstrong Wing of the Blake Library, 2351 SE Monterey Road, Stuart.  The third in a series of six special Adult Summer Reading Program events, the free workshop is funded by the Friends of the Blake Library in Stuart, Inc.

Join us for a workshop that explores basic techniques for altering books.  Re-imagine retired books into new objects.  Bring your imagination and a few supplies if you wish.  We will have a selection of paperback and hardcover books available.  Basic supplies for the crafts will be provided.  If you have cutting mats, craft knives and retired books you may bring your own to work with.  Suitable for teens and adults.

Attending “Playing With Books” qualifies you to participate in a raffle for a gift basket that day.  Attending the July 14 program or any other special Adult Summer Reading Program event scheduled at Martin County community libraries through August 7 will qualify you to be registered for a grand prize drawing held August 13.  Events are free and open to the public. For details pick up an Adult Summer Reading Program flier/Summer Reading Log at any Martin County library, visit the library website at or call (772) 221-1403.
