Teens Can Create Hip-hop Mural Art at Cummings Library July 14

Sue Carlson of Art Van Go, Inc. will present Teen Graffiti Art, a mural project for teens entering grades 6-12, on Saturday, July 14 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Cummings Library, 2551 S.W. Matheson Avenue, Palm City.  The event is free.

From cave paintings to graffiti letters, artists have been leaving their mark on walls for centuries.  Now it’s your turn to paint the “walls” at the library.  Using black lines and neon colors you’ll develop your own style as you paint these portable walls, blending colors to create overlapping letters and hip-hop figures that pop off the paper.

All materials will be provided.  Limited to 25 teens.  Pre-registration is required.  Please call 772-288-2551 to register.

Part of Martin County Library System’s Teen Summer Reading Program, “Own the Night,” Teen Graffiti Art is sponsored by the Friends of the Palm City Library, Inc. with advertising provided by the Library Foundation of Martin County.  For more information pick up a Teen Summer Reading Program flier at any Martin County library, call (772) 221-1403, or visit the library website at
