Martin County Library System’s adult readers can spend this summer

“Between the Covers”

Children have a summer reading program, teens have theirs, and adults have their own, too—Between the Covers!  Martin County Library System plans numerous activities for adults to take part in this summer.  In addition to reading opportunities and incentives, your days—and nights—will be filled with dancing, murder mystery, nature exploration, astronomy, trivia and altered books.  Program funding and prizes are provided by the six MCLS Friends groups.  All events are free and open to the public.

Attend one or more of the special events scheduled at Martin County community libraries from June 1 through August 7 and you will qualify to be registered for a prize at the end of summer drawing on August 13.  Or, beginning May 26, pick up an Adult Summer Reading Log at any Martin County library beginning May 26, log at least 10 hours of reading (listening) online at http://www.library.martin.fl.us or return it to the library to be entered in a drawing for the Adult Reading Prize featured at your home library.

Calling all photographers!  Help us capture Martin County at night!  We will feature nighttime photos on our website this summer.  Email your photos of Martin County (digital copies you don’t mind sharing) to mclsprograms@martin.fl.us or bring by copies we can keep.  Visit http://www.library.martin.fl.us for details.  Help make our online photo gallery a fun representation of our community after sunset!  Everyone is invited to view the photos and enjoy refreshments at the Martin County at Night Photography Reception on August 11 from 11:00 a.m. to noon at the Hobe Sound Public Library, 10595 S.E. Federal Highway, Hobe Sound.

Martin County Library System Summer Reading programs end August 11, but we hope you continue reading and spreading the joy of reading long after!
