Larry Bounds will portray famed scientist Albert Einstein Saturday, March 31 at 3:00 p.m. at the Blake Library in Stuart as part of Martin County Library System’s Chautauqua South arts and education series.

Titled “Albert Einstein: E=mc2,” this program is an introduction to the ideas of Dr. Albert Einstein that changed American thought.  Einstein will explain the five papers from his “miracle year” of 1905 that would make him internationally famous.  From atomic theory to E=mc2 to special relativity and even his general theory, Einstein’s insights and the processes that led to them will be disclosed with wit and humor.  He discusses his views of science and philosophy while conducting a classroom-style lecture such as he presented for scientists and laypersons around the world.

The Chautauquan Larry Bounds will present Einstein’s theories in a way that is accessible for all.  Larry has been a teacher for nearly 30 years and a professional magician since 1973, performing eight years for Ripley’s Believe It or Not!  He is National Board Certified and has earned an MS in education and a BA in speech and theatre, both from The University of Tennessee.  He has performed actively with the Greenville Chautauqua in the Carolinas since 2003, presenting a colonial magic show (as described by George Washington) and recreations of Ambrose Bierce, Harry Houdini, Albert Einstein, and Winston Churchill.

WHERE:          Blake Library, John F. Armstrong Wing, 2351 SE Monterey Road, Stuart 34996
