Tickets for Peter Pertis Blake Library Piano Concert Available Beginning Jan. 3

WHO:                    Underwritten by Elisabeth Lahti, in support of the Martin County Library System


WHAT:                 “The Beauty of Classical Piano,” Part Three

                                Presented by Dr. Peter Pertis


Internationally acclaimed Hungarian pianist Dr. Peter Pertis will present the third concert in a four-part music series underwritten by Elisabeth Lahti, “The Beauty of Classical Piano,” 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14 at the Blake Library in Stuart.  The one-hour concert is free but tickets are required and may be obtained at the Blake Library Circulation desk beginning January 3. Telephone reservations will not be accepted.  There is a limit of two tickets per person, please. 


Dr. Pertis will play Ludwig von Beethoven’s Piano Sonata op. 10. No. 1, in C minor, Frederick Chopin’s Ballade No. 1, in G minor and Robert Schumann’s Carnaval, op. 9.  There will be no intermission. 


Dr. Peter Pertis was born in Budapest, Hungary.  He was awarded both his Master and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, Hungary. Dr. Pertis was a Professor of Piano at the Franz Liszt Academy of Budapest, Visiting Artist/Professor at the Musashino Music Academy, Tokyo, Japan and Visiting Artist/Professor at the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford, CT.


In the past ten to fifteen years Dr. Pertis has considerably reduced his public appearances. He divides his time between Budapest, Hungary, and Stuart, FL.  For more information on Dr. Pertis, please visit
