Marvin Miller to Speak on the U.S.A. and the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) Jan. 12

Educator Marvin D. Miller will present an illustrated talk, The U.S.A. and the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12 at the Blake Library in Stuart.


Almost 3,000 Americans, along with 40,000 other volunteers from 52 nations, joined the International Brigades to fight fascism in 1936.  Many of those Americans then joined U.S. forces in World War II.  Today, their early efforts to combat fascism are largely forgotten.


Join Suffolk County (Long Island, NY) Community College teacher and Jensen Beach resident Marvin Miller as he presents “The Forgotten War” slide and lecture show in honor of and in tribute to the men and women who sought to make the world safe for democracy.
