IRSC Professor Series:  Professor Robert R. Farley

 

Robert R. Farley, professor of history at Indian River State College, will present the following programs as a continuation of the Chautauqua South IRSC Professor Series at the Cummings Library in Palm City.  Each program is free and open to the public. 

Friday, April 15, 2:00 p.m. Historical Hemingway

Ernest Hemingway—the writer, adventurer, hunter and angler—will be analyzed in the context of the decades in which he lived and the women he loved.

 

Friday, April 22, 2:00 p.m. Benedict Arnold: The Untold Story—Tragic Hero or Traitor?

For the love of a woman, Benedict Arnold became our nation’s most notorious traitor. Learn the story of his frustration with the Continental Congress and the financial problems that plagued all American soldiers.  THIS PROGRAM WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED MARCH 18.
