Classical piano concert series with Dr. Peter Pertis concludes Feb. 5

WHO:              Underwritten by Elisabeth Lahti, in support of the Martin County Library System

WHAT:            “The Beauty of Classical Piano,” Part Two

                        Presented by Dr. Peter Pertis


Internationally acclaimed Hungarian pianist Dr. Peter Pertis will present the

second and final program in a two-part music series underwritten by Elisabeth Lahti, “The Beauty of Classical Piano,” 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5 at the Blake Library in Stuart.  The one-hour concert is free and open to the public.  No tickets or reservations are required.

Dr. Pertis will play Mozart’s Fantasy in C minor, K. 475, Chopin’s Ballade No. 3 in A-flat major, op. 47. and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.  

Dr. Peter Pertis was born in Budapest, Hungary.  He was awarded both his Master and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, Hungary. Dr. Pertis was a Professor of Piano at the Franz Liszt Academy of Budapest, Visiting Artist/Professor at the Musashino Music Academy, Tokyo, Japan and Visiting Artist/Professor at the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford, CT.

In the past ten to fifteen years Dr. Pertis has considerably reduced his public appearances. He divides his time between Budapest, Hungary, and Stuart, FL.
