Celebrate the January 26 reopening of

Hobe Sound Public Library

with “Changing Shoes” author Tina Sloan

(Stuart, FL) – Following its closure for six months for repairs, the Hobe Sound Public Library, located at 10595 SE Federal Highway in Hobe Sound, will reopen Wednesday, January 26, 2011

In celebration of this much-anticipated event, the Friends of the Hobe Sound Library, Inc. will host a special appearance by Tina Sloan, author of Changing Shoes: Getting Older—NOT OLD—With Style, Humor, and Grace, at 2:00 p.m.  A reception with light refreshments provided by the Friends will follow her talk.  Copies of her book will be available for sale and signing.  The event is free and open to the public.

A Jupiter Island resident, Sloan began her career as an actress playing the role of nurse Lillian Raines on the television soap opera Guiding Light. During her 26-year reign she played several parts:  the star of the show, the mother of the star and then the grandmother of the star.  Her charmingly written and humorously honest book, Changing Shoes, is the story of one woman who refuses to let her light be dimmed, and is an inspiring guide to adapting gracefully to the real-life dramas of life’s constant changes.
