WHAT:                 Free concert: “The Opera Audition”

                                Presented by Terry Barber

International vocal artist Terry Barber will perform arias for a rare voice type (countertenor) representing various languages and periods, accompanied on piano by Grammy winner Thomas Bold, and classical guitar by Rowdy Carlton, 4:00 p.m. December 2 at the Blake Library in Stuart. Joining them will be soprano Lorrianna Colozzo.  The performance immediately follows the first in a four-part opera lecture series presented by Helen Sagan.

A classically-trained countertenor with an unusually rich, versatile voice, Terry Barber has been hired as a soloist at the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Moscow’s Svetlanov Hall to name a few.  He is the solo voice from the new age recording, “Adiemus Vocalise” (EMI)  and was a member of the two-time Grammy-winning group, Chanticleer.  Terry’s current tour, “A Sacred Journey,” has raised thousands of dollars for houses of worship. His non-profit corporation, “Artists For A Cause,” facilitates artist support of charities.
