Spend a musical afternoon with classical pianist Peter Pertis Dec. 4

WHAT:           “The Beauty of Classical Piano,” Part One

                             Presented by Dr. Peter Pertis


Internationally acclaimed Hungarian pianist Dr. Peter Pertis will present the first program in a two-part music series, “The Beauty of Classical Piano,” 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4 at the Blake Library in Stuart.

Dr. Pertis will play Beethoven’s Tempest sonata, Mendelssohn’s Rondo Capriccioso, three études by Chopin and Liszt’s Mephisto Waltz in this one-hour concert without intermission. No tickets or reservations are required. The next and final performance in this series, which is underwritten by Elisabeth Lahti, will be February 5.

Dr. Peter Pertis was born in Budapest, Hungary.  He was awarded both his Master and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, Hungary. Dr. Pertis was a Professor of Piano at the Franz Liszt Academy of Budapest, Visiting Artist/Professor at the Musashino Music Academy, Tokyo, Japan and Visiting Artist/Professor at the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford, CT.

In the past ten to fifteen years Dr. Pertis has considerably reduced his public appearances. He divides his time between Budapest, Hungary, and Stuart, FL.
