Community invited to participate in Season’s Readings program

WHO:                    The Six Martin County Library System Friends Groups

WHAT:                 Season’s Readings

Would you like to join the Friends of Martin County Library System in putting a gift book into the hands of a deserving child this season?  Our Season’s Readings goal this year is to collect 300 books to be given to 4- to 5-year-olds in Martin County child care centers.  With your help, it will be easy!  Just …

  • Visit your local library and choose from the tree a hanging paper gingerbread person bearing the age of a preschool boy or girl.  Be sure to print your name, telephone number and the number assigned to the child you have chosen in our notebook at the circulation desk and pick up a list of recommended books.

  • Purchase an appropriate hardcover book from your favorite bookseller.

  • Return your gift book AND gingerbread person to the library circulation desk by Tuesday, Dec. 7.  Volunteers will wrap your gift and your book will be presented to the child you have chosen.

Look for Season’s Readings tree displays at Martin County libraries beginning November 2.  Thank you for giving and for spreading the joy of reading!
