WHAT:    Celebrate Teen Read Week with Author Booker T. Mattison

Teen Read Week takes place October 17-23.  This year’s theme per the American

Library Association is “Books with Beat @ your library®.”

Join music video director and young adult author Booker T. Mattison 6:00 p.m. Thursday,

October 21 at the Blake Library in Stuart as he speaks about his book Unsigned Hype

Booker T. Mattison has written and directed music videos that have been shown on

BET and MTV Europe. He’s also written a book about the nitty-gritty streets of

New York City and one Tory Tyson who sees his future as a hip-hop star. Grounded

in the world of today’s urban culture, Unsigned Hype draws readers in with its fresh

voice and true-to-life rendering of the hip-hop world. Main character “Terror Tory” has the

turntable talent and DJ skills to make it into the spotlight, and  author Booker T. Mattison has

the life experience to push that music right off the pages!

Copies of  Mattison’s book will be available for sale and signing. A Q & A follows his talk.

Throw your questions his way—he’ll answer back, keeping it real, and right—just like Tory!

WHEN:    Thursday, October 21, 6:00 p.m.

WHERE:  Blake Library, John F. Armstrong Wing, 2351 SE Monterey Road, Stuart
