(Stuart, FL) – The Central Florida-based jazz ensemble Friends of Jazz will perform at the Blake Library, 2351 SE Monterey Road in Stuart, FL on Saturday, July 10 at 2:00 p.m. The event will take place in the John F. Armstrong Wing.

Beating the heat is a breeze at the Blake Library, especially with an afternoon of cool jazz. Get ready to move, because once you listen to the artistry and swinging rhythm of the Friends of Jazz, there’s no way you’ll be sitting still in your chair!

The ensemble features two great vocalists to double your enjoyment: the poised and polished Tammy Georgine, who has worked with well-known Los Angeles and New York producers and headlined on cruise ships, casino shows and at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas; and Bob Fowler, who along with Tammy has been a featured singer in the Warren Parrish Trio and brings a wealth of experience to the group.

Rounding out these jazz masters are Greg Taillon on bass, Dave Crockett on piano, Ronnie Hart on drums, and Ross Humphries on wind and brass. Blake Library audiences will recognize Greg and Ronnie as members of the Cajun zydeco group Porchdogs.

Don’t miss this memorable afternoon of the coolest jazz around! Sponsored by The Friends of the Blake Library in Stuart, Inc., this event is free and open to the public. For more information about this or other Martin County Library System programs, call (772) 221-1403, visit the library’s Web site at www.library.martin.fl.us, or pick up a Library Connection at any Martin County library.
