Internationally acclaimed pianist Peter Pertis will present a program of works by Beethoven, Chopin and Liszt 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13 at the Cummings Library in Palm City. Free tickets are required and may be obtained at the Cummings Library beginning Tuesday, March 9.

Peter Pertis was born in Budapest, Hungary.  He was awarded both his Master and Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. Dr. Pertis was a Professor of Piano at the Franz Liszt Academy of Budapest, Visiting Artist/Professor at the Musashino Music Academy, Tokyo, Japan, and Visiting Artist/Professor at the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford, CT. As a soloist, he was represented by the Hungarian State Concert Management and gained recognition in the main cities of Europe, Japan, South America, Australia and the United States.

Critics have praised his playing as being remarkable for its “deep-rooted poetry,” “rich variety of tone,” and “outstanding genius of his interpretation.” Records and Recording (London) has found his performances of Liszt to possess “demonic force along with a lyrical sensitiveness and great humanism.”

In the past 10-15 years Dr. Pertis has considerably reduced his public appearances. He divides his time between Budapest, Hungary, and Stuart, Florida. For more information on Dr. Pertis, please visit
