Enjoy Old-fashioned Family Fun in Indiantown Feb. 13

WHO:                    Martin County Library System and event sponsors The Friends of the Library of Indiantown, Florida, Inc. and Martin County Parks and Recreation Department 

 WHAT:                 The Big Read: Family Fun Day

Enjoy old-fashioned community fun 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13 at Post Family Park, adjacent to the Elisabeth Lahti Library in Indiantown.

Activities for young families include:

  • Bean bag toss
  • Leapfrog
  • Sack races
  • Face painting
  • Creating homemade Valentine cards
  • Photo opportunities with costumed characters Dora and Diego 

 

Free copies of classic and children’s versions of the Big Read book The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, will be available while supplies last.

The Big Read is an initiative of the NEA designed to restore reading to the center of American culture.  For more information about The Big Read please visit www.neabigread.org.  To learn about Big Read events planned in Martin County during 2010 visit www.bigreadmartin.org
