LIBRARY SYSTEM ANNOUNCES
JUNE 2 OPENING OF CUMMINGS LIBRARY CAFÉ
Visitors to the newly renovated Peter and Julie Cummings Library in Palm City, Florida, can add one more reason to
spend more time there: the Martin County Library System’s first café will open at the library Tuesday, June 2,
2009. The facility contains a state of the art service area, including banquettes with power outlets as well as several
tables and chairs, all with a beautiful view of a wetlands preserve.
“I am thrilled to be partnering with Martin County and the Martin County Library System by establishing a Big
Apple Bagels Café at the new Cummings Library. It is such a beautiful facility and has so much to offer to the Palm
City community,” said Linda Reinstein, sole owner of Big Apple Bagels located at 2395 SE Ocean Boulevard in
Stuart.
When asked about the facility, Ms. Reinstein said, “I am so excited to be a part of this innovative library. The
layout of the café area will afford the library patrons the opportunity to enjoy our freshly prepared food and
beverages in an idyllic setting.”
Among the items that will be available are made-from-scratch bagels and muffins, Brewster’s® coffee, hot espresso
drinks, pastries, hand tossed salads, freshly made sandwiches, juices and other cold beverages.
The Cummings Library, located at 2551 SW Matheson Avenue, off Martin Downs Boulevard in Palm City, is open
noon to 8:00 p.m. Wednesdays and 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The café
will open when the library opens each day and close one half hour before library closing time.
