Take part in the summer reading program through a variety of performances, workshops and amazingly fun programs! Sign up for your reading log beginning Saturday, June 11 to participate in reading fun all summer long!

Contest:
Hoke Library One World, Many Stories Children’s Art Exhibition. All artists will have the opportunity to display their art throughout the summer at the Hoke Library, 1150 N.W. Jack Williams Way, Jensen Beach. Art should include the theme and adhere to the size limit. Please write name, age and contact info on the back of art. Open to grades K-5. Entry deadline: Saturday, July 2 at 5:30 p.m. (or before). Theme: “One World, Many Stories.” Size limit: 20″ x 20.”

Bring your wiggly toddler and enjoy a fun morning of music and movement based activities. Join your child as they engage with fun songs, instruments and exercises that aid in motor development and early literacy skills. Ages 24-36 months.
Thursdays, June 2 through July 28, 6:30-7:15pm – Family Storytime @ The Blake, Blake Library, Exploration Lab, 2351 S.E. Monterey Rd., Stuart. Bring the whole family for stories, songs, and activities for children and adults to enjoy together. Develop early literacy skills while building a love of reading! All ages are welcome.

Read Around the World Magic Show – Full of funny stories, amazing magic, audience participation and surprises along the way! Comedy magician Lyndel entertains children while showing them that although there is only one world, there are many stories to tell.
Tuesdays June 28, July 26 and August 30, 4:00-5:00 p.m. – Lego Club, Blake Library, Exploration Lab, 2351 S.E. Monterey Rd., Stuart. Like Legos? Lego enthusiasts are invited to stop by for some creative building time with other kids! Make creations based on a theme and share your masterpiece with the group. Pictures of the Lego creations will be posted on the library’s online photo gallery. Lego Club is designed for kids ages 4 and up. Legos will be provided but gently used donations are welcome.

Wednesday, July 6, 5:00-6:00 p.m. – Tampa Taiko Japanese Drummers, Elisabeth Lahti Library, 15200 S.W. Adams Ave., Indiantown. Experience Japanese history and tradition through a taiko drum performance that brings a contemporary vibrance to an ancient martial art form. Learn about drum building and design, listen and participate in a modern drumming performance and discover the history of Samurai warriors.
Saturday, July 9, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. – The Reluctant Dragon, Blake Library, John F. Armstrong Wing, 2351 S.E. Monterey Rd., Stuart. Sir George is hired to slay the ferocious dragon that lives too close to the village, but the dragon is more interested in reciting Shakespeare than fighting. Together, they stage a monumental battle in Atlantic Coast Theatre’s adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s charming story. For elementary age children.

Storyteller and puppeteer Katie Adams performs Hispanic stories with a dash of Spanish words and a splash of colorful shadow puppets. Stories include “How Color Came to the World,” an Aztec myth about the origin of the rainbow, “The Proud Cuckoo Bird,” a Mayan tale from Mexico, “Mariposa Martinez,” a favorite tale from Cuba about a butterfly, and “Medio Pollito,” a folktale from Spain that has traveled all over Latin America.
